a 2014 retrospective / toronto & muskoka wedding photographers
the first minutes of 2014 were spent peering out glass windows onto the downtown square below as the fireworks went off, cameras to our faces at our last wedding of 2013 / first wedding of 2014. it's hard to believe the year is already coming to a close.from the muggy, jet-lagged days spent in the philippines in january to the cool nights in michigan camping with friends we've made through the photography world, each year seems to bring us more to be thankful for. a never-ending, snow filled winter & days spent in the wilderness of the east coast camping just the two of us. photographing intimate weddings in the heart of downtown toronto to weekend long weddings at summer camps in beautiful muskoka. weddings in backyards, weddings beside lakes. it was a year of dave getting poison ivy and seeing the northern lights dance across the sky....as always, the biggest thanks is owed to the people who let us into their lives to take their photographs & document a piece of their story. the prospect of being photographed is not an easy one for most people, and we've always viewed our work as the biggest act of collaboration -- a mutual sharing of trust. so to those that have trusted us & our cameras, the biggest thanks goes to you. in the moments that 2014 did not treat us so well, we can honestly say that it was the weddings & the people who brought us up every single time, and we realize that is not a common thing, to have a job that is such a highlight. we're so happy about the photos we made together with you all!! thank you, for your encouragement & kind words.the last wedding of 2014 is done & dusted, and we'll be spending the last days of the year taking a breather, mixed in with fun business things like creating & updating items for the new year (actually fun), and catching up on all the paperwork that gets left behind during the busyness of the year (not actually fun). we've also got more weddings from this year that we still haven't shared on here. we've been meeting with & booking weddings for 2015 around the toronto & muskoka area, & we'd love to take on a few weddings out of province/country for the next year as well so please don't hesitate to be in touch.some of our favourite moments from the past year... already can't wait for 2015.
