winter days & silver linings.
snuggling under heavy blankets.stoking an orange hot fire, sitting close.the smell of wood burning.making mulled wine or warm maple bourbon apple cider.the glow of the lights that make the long nights a bit brighter.the quiet that comes with a snowfall, when it's so snowy no one's out & the streets are empty.taking a hot bath.undisturbed snow covering pine trees for miles.the one sunny day of the week & you go outside for no reason other than to feel the sun even though it's a zillion degrees below zero.if you're lucky, dreaming & planning a getaway somewhere warm.making plans & getting excited about where life will take you next.the time to linger over coffee with a friend, or to write a stack of christmas cards, or to read a magazine cover to cover. time to edit the hundreds of random photos from across the year that slipped through the cracks of busy.i love my country but there are good days & bad days and one of those bad days is called 'the time between the end of fall & beginning of spring in canada' haha & it kind of lasts a while, but, you know it's not all bad when you remember the little silver linings. these are my reasons to embrace the upcoming winter days, & we hope it treats you kindly too!
