The Best Intimate Venues In Toronto For a Wedding - Updated 2024

ask us what we think the sweet spot is when it comes to size for weddings, and you'll hear us say between 60-90 guests — not too many to feel like you couldn't get around to speaking with everyone, but not so few that it might feel impossible to narrow down the guest list. and from a photography perspective, with this number of guests we usually feel confident that we can capture everyone at least once over the course of the event. over our many years of photographing weddings in and around toronto, here are a few of our most favourite smaller venues (that sometimes don't even feel like a "wedding venue"!) that we think are perfect to host your smaller, more intimate wedding.

our list of top small and intimate venues for your wedding in toronto:

PROPELLER COFFEE west end/near the junction | see our photos here and here.

a beautiful open space for a wedding located in west toronto. small outdoor patio area, street parking, and easily accessible from landsdowne subway station.

F’AMELIA RESTAURANT in cabbagetown | see our photos here.

the intimate outdoor patio is perfect for a smaller wedding at f'amelia restaurant, located on a quiet side street in cabbagetown.

ARCHEO RESTAURANT in the distillery district | see our photos here and here and here.

the cozy space inside archeo restaurant in the distillery district is ideal for a more intimate feel, and the closed off outdoor area is a great spot for a wedding ceremony, cocktails and mingling. we have photographed more weddings at archeo than any other venue in toronto, and it never disappoints.

PIANO PIANO RESTAURANT in harbord village | see our photos here.

we love the fun and moody interior of piano piano restaurant in harbord village.

HOTEL OCHO on spadina avenue | see our photos here.

hotel ocho has an intimate but airy space on the second floor in the heart of downtown toronto, as well as an outdoor patio for cocktails and first floor area for a ceremony and/or dancing. bonus — your room is a short elevator ride away from the party.

CLUNY BISTRO in the distillery district

a beautiful small space at the back of cluny bistro with outdoor access within the distillery district — especially great for a brunch/lunch wedding.

GLADSTONE HOUSE on queen street west | see our photos here.

another relatively central location to downtown, and a lovely spot to stay overnight too.

YOU COULD ALSO JUST ASK YOUR FAVOURITE RESTAURANT!

some of our favourite weddings over the years in toronto have been at small restaurants that don’t necessarily advertise that they host weddings… ask, you never know, you might get lucky!!

some honorable mentions/places that we would love to check out in the future —

assembly chef's hall in the downtown core, george restaurant on queen street east, mildred's temple kitchen in liberty village, the ace hotel toronto on camden street, the drake hotel on queen street west, bandit brewery in roncesvalles
