memories of copenhagen
copenhagen.the place where the minute we stepped into it, we dreamed up a parallel universe, one in which we lived in one of its many cute city apartments overlooking a canal, where we sat in the windows of its cafes in the mornings and ran around its parks in the evenings.we dodged bicycles and hot-footed it hand in hand from one end of the city center to the other and back again over the course of two days. we got blisters, we got desperate for bathroom breaks, and we fell more in love around each corner. we saw a guy riding a bike with a falcon on the handlebars. we took photos of the pastel coloured buildings, probably every single one of those pastel coloured buildings. we ate salty danish cheese & we sat in the sun next to the canal on a national holiday with the rest of the city. we watched the runners around the moat of the castle, we watched people drink and play boules in the parks, we watched the faces we passed, looking for our parallel universe selves, the ones who called this lovely place home.it's amazing how a layover between one destination to the next in just a few days can become a place on the map for you, a place synonymous with wonderful memories, a place that takes you by complete surprise and immediately feels like it could be home.
