dyrhólaey & reynisfjara, moss fields & roadside ponies / adventures in south iceland

iceland, the place where at every turn you're faced with a new unexplainable & completely incomparable landscape.on our first day after flying into reykjavik, we rented a car and drove east along highway one towards the small town of vik. we posted some photos of the beautiful hike we did on the way here. the next day, we explored the heights & wind of dyrhólaey & the black sand and basalt columns of reynisfjara nearby before continuing our drive east towards jokulsarlon. on our way we passed by fields of horses and these incredible plains, old volcanic stone covered in moss as far as you can see.standing up on those cliffs of dyrhólaey, you really feel the immensity of the ocean to your one side and snow-covered mountains to the other, and little old you getting to take it all in. the wind is powerful & loud so it was easy to get lost in your own thoughts. it's a truly magnificent spot, one of my favourites, and it's hard to put into words or capture, but we tried.
