support local food / toronto commercial shoot with stasis + hustle&bustle
we recently partnered with our friends over at hustle&bustle to photograph the space of stasis preserves for their new website. always so fun to see our work like this, & also to challenge ourselves with something new & out of the ordinary for us.stasis is a small deli & pantry located on one of my favourite streets in toronto, roncesvalles, and they sell all kinds of locally sourced products. they also make in-house all kinds of fruit & savoury preserves all coming from locally grown fruits & vegetables with no icky artificial anything. emily & julian, who run & own stasis, are a newly married couple with a lot of heart & energy. they've created a welcoming space & we definitely walked away with a handful of yummy stuff.supporting local businesses like this means a lot to dave & i, and i think this feeling has grown over the years of us owning a small business ourselves... & in an age where we tend to be more & more removed from our food, where producing as much as possible for as little as possible seems to be the governing principle most of the time, i really value being able to know where my food comes from and that those places practice sustainable methods i support. food is our fuel, and food has a huge impact on not only our bodies but our world.. i know each individual voice is small, but i also know that it starts with voting with your dollars & choosing mindfully who you're going to support.thankful that hustle&bustle called us up for this one, they are a toronto based branding & web design studio run by our friends (who we met through shooting their wedding a few years ago), so it always just feels great whenever we work alongside them. here are some outtakes from our morning spent at the store below, & if you're in the area definitely go check them out!
