a day with the cesarini family

getting to spend the day with this little family was so important to us.we didn't know each other prior to our time photographing them, i had only emailed with kelly a few times before showing up on their doorstep that day in october. her email came at a time of the season that had us feeling a bit stretched thin and wondering if we'd be taking on too much. it had been a while since we'd gotten the opportunity to document a family, and to be honest, i think we'd forgotten the feeling we always get and how important we believe it is..... but all that was brought back the minute we stepped in their door.we spent a few hours with these four, going on a walk, cooking a meal, just getting to watch and document the intricacies and small nuances that weave together to make up their home and their family bond. we photographed the curls that maybe one day will be straightened or cut; the favourite toys that will be sold off at a future garage sale; the enthusiasms and gestures and tendencies that will wane, evolve, grow, or change over the years. i just think that this kind of stuff is important and i'll forever be blown away at being asked by a family to help them remember the ordinary moments of everyday life just like these below.enjoy this step inside their day-to-day :
