date destination discovery

june 19, 2013. above europe somewhere. i like staying up all night reading a good book on long plane journeys. it makes me feel eleven again, staying up all night reading anne of green gables when i should have been sleeping. also, sometimes you get mini toblerone on flights, and that's pretty incredible too.june 20, 2013. athens, greece. bread here doesn't hurt my stomach. at home i can't eat more than one serving of grain/bread per day, i've almost cut it out of my diet completely. this makes me sad to think about what's so different about our wheat in north america. ugh.june 24, 2013. air bnb cottage on a hill in greece. i just noticed this thing hanging from a shelf i've walked by every day we've been here. we are here in greece renting a greek family's summer cottage and there is a souvenir miniature bell that says switzerland on it and i can't believe it because when i was a teenager, my best friend visited switzerland and brought me back the exact same souvenir. worlds apart, and we have the same memento in our houses. i've never even been to switzerland.june 25, 2013. somewhere in greece. here, your own patch of clear water, your own piece of the meditteranean, is really all you need.june 27, 2013. turkey. sand so hot it boils your coffee right in front of you. whoa.july 6, 2013. robin hood's bay, england. when everything goes according to plan, there's no story to tell, and nothing to remember, except that everything went the way you thought it would. and in the end, that's pretty boring.a few excerpts from our recent trip overseas to photograph and to visit friends/family. there are so many photographs and stories to share. we'll be sharing more from those travels here soon, so be sure to check back!
