A DAY IN FEBRUARY
This is what a regular day in February looked like for us. A quote by Paul David Tripp comes to mind: There simply are not many grand moments of life, and we surely don’t live life in those moments. No, we live in the utterly mundane. We exist in the bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, and hallways of life. This is where the character of our life is set...Nothing grand, perfectly mundane, one random and ordinary day in February. We were honoured to be invited to photograph an event put on by one of the city's food charities downtown for lunch, and we got our weekly delivery of local produce in the afternoon, a service we've started this month and have been really enjoying. It's making us think creatively with our meals, use up more of the food we buy, and our trips to the grocery store consist of a list that is 5-10 items long (instead of 50). And it is completely true, it's noticeable how much more flavour is packed into food from local farms, and food that's in season. February's been an interesting season -- we've been mostly sharing photographs and stories from our roadtrip we took a few months ago here on the blog, and there's been a lot of dreaming of the next set of adventures to embark on for Dave & I. I feel like the sun's been out more that its fair share for this time of year, so we're holding on to that and trying to last until spring comes :)I've been learning to see things more on days like this day. Because it's true, this is where life happens. xo, jenn
