THE YEAR THAT WAS, 2012

...and, just like that, it's the last day of 2012.

(this is me, almost twelve months ago to the day.. hello, twelve-month-younger self)

We've been going through photos from the past twelve months, remembering all they've brought...January 2012 and moving into a new home and office, a trip to Mexico for a conference, the Spring and redesigning our website ourselves, trips to Vancouver and Montreal for work, as well as an ulcer and a run in with poison oak for Jenn (eek!)... summer brought more weddings and shoots and another trip out west to Oregon for a conference and work, a trip to New York for fun... as the fall rolled around we got to go to up north more than once, more weddings and shoots of course which brought us to our month-long cross-continent trip to California in November and the end of the year... no wonder I'm a bit tired?! Ha. It's been a good one you guys. When you take it all in at once you really do realize how much you have to be thankful for. We've tried so hard this year to get our photos printed, and we've been going through them the past few days... there are gaps and we weren't always successful in our goal, but I'm so glad for what we have in real-life printed form. Not everything we did this year did we have a chance to blog about, so many lovely shoots and weddings that we didn't get the chance to share from this year (but still might), and so many lovely people we got to share it with, many of whom are pictured below :) Obviously we would be nowhere without you guys who believe in us and our work and who have been eager to have us tell a part of your story.. thank you.A small taste of 2012:I think that I look back on this year as the year when Dave and I really dug our heels into the ground on what we believe about ourselves and the art & stories that are in us to tell... because after three years of pursuing something and really searching for what makes us truly excited about this work, we understand that better. And with that, all the self-doubt that comes with breaking away from the crowd and sticking to your guns.... all the wonderings of whether we're doing the 'right' thing... well, it has not always been an easy ride, that's for sure. But it has been so rewarding and it's been worth the long nights and the difficult stretches. 2012, the year we tried to be true to ourselves. 2012, the year we decided quality over quantity.

(us, taken in November 2012 by our lovely friend Abbey. this looks & feels like us right now)

We're excited about where the journey will lead us next. Happy happy 2013 to you, dear friends!

Much love, Jenn & Dave xx
