WHERE I TALK ABOUT OUR FIRST ROADS LESS TRAVELED TRIP...

If you've been a reader here for a while or have moseyed over to our website, you might remember that Dave & I have been working towards this little idea/project we've had for a while now that we've called the Roads Less Traveled project..... and (nervously) we've been planning our first venture behind the scenes here for the past couple of months, so we just thought we'd share a bit more today (ahh I'm nervous!):The basic idea is that Dave and I have been looking for a way to give back with our photography work for a while now... and we've always been about trying to do things a bit differently so we've always tried to build our business in a way that exactly fits us and the things we believe.... The Roads Less Traveled project is a way for us to document people and stories that are worthy of being told but maybe just don't have a way of being told right now.... primarily for the people who are living them. For us, photography is about so much more than the final images, and giving back about more than money..... (if you'd like to read more I've written some of our thoughts behind it HERE). We've got a bit of a break with weddings in the month of November so we've decided to take a road trip from our front door in Toronto across the continent to Los Angeles.... I'm sure our route there will be very winding as we really just want to go where the story leads us, wherever that may be.... which is totally exciting and scary at the same time!So I suppose this is the part where I ask for some help :)  It would mean the world to us if you have any people/places/things that come to mind who you think could personally benefit from spending some time with us having a piece of their story documented... we are looking for people or businesses living a story that is a bit off the beaten path and inspiring (ie people taking a road less traveled in some way!) to just document their real life as a gift for them to have. That means the world to us to have this little support network of people behind us & hand in hand with us :)So yeah, that's it. Us. Toronto to LA in November. A little adventure. Delving into what it means to document, to share stories, and to stretch beyond the comfort zone and hopefully grow in who we are.. I get goosebumps whenever I think about it...(ahhh!)xo, jenn
